The Railway Tie Association, in cooperation with The Hardwood Market Report (HMR), maintains regionalized information that illustrates trends in historical pricing for green crossties as compared to a hardwood product benchmark. The National graph also combines the historical pricing trend lines with 12-month moving averages of tie production and tie inventories.

Viewers of these graphs are cautioned that the price trend lines are a composite number of the high and low prices reported by HMR, and thus are representive only of trends and are not the actual prices paid for ties in the time periods reported on.
